Ensuring Safe Homes: KNED’s Healthy Homes Program
The Kaw Nation Environmental Department (KNED) Healthy Homes Program demonstrates a strong commitment to ensuring safe and healthy living environments for tribal citizens. Through this initiative, certified KNED inspectors conduct comprehensive on-site assessments of homes, meticulously testing for a range of potential hazards including mold, lead, asbestos, and other threats that could compromise indoor air quality and overall health. Upon identifying any issues, the program takes a proactive approach by developing tailored remediation plans. Importantly, the KNED offers these vital resources at no cost to qualified applicants, making it accessible to those who need it most. This program not only addresses immediate health concerns but also contributes to the long-term well-being of the Kaw Nation community by promoting safer, healthier living spaces for its members.
