KAW NATION

Injury Prevention Program

Dedicated to proactively addressing and preventing injuries amongst our youth and elder citizens.

We are here to help

Providing knowledge & Resources.

Injuries are not always accidents or random, unavoidable events. Research has shown that injuries often happen in predictable and preventable ways. The Kaw Nation Injury Prevention Program strives to prevent injuries before they occur by educating and providing preventative resources to our tribal community.

Keeping Kids Safe

Child passenger safety is about preventing injury or worse in the event of a motor vehicle crash. For many parents, providing proper child restraint systems for their children is simply a matter of education and having the right equipment.

Elder Fall Prevention

Keeping Elders Safe

Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for seniors. The Kaw Nation Fall Prevention Program targets falls risk behaviors and home hazards for older adults at high risk for falling. The elements of the intervention include a comprehensive assessment by our program coordinator. Needed resources are then provided.
