HIGHER EDUCATION GRANT
For Kaw tribal members who wish to complete a bachelor’s degree program.
When applying for this grant, the student must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and show they have an unmet financial need.
Deadlines to apply for the higher education grant are JUNE 1 for the fall semester and November 1 for the spring semester.
- Be an enrolled member of the Kaw Nation
- Be a High School graduate/GED
- May be enrolled full-time or part-time
- Approved for admission by the college/university
- Give reasonable assurance you will be successful in completing a four-year degree program
- Must show an unmet financial need
- Maintain a 2.0 grade point each semester
- Students must be eligible for a PELL grant, Work-Study, or loans, and still show an unmet need.
- Includes summer school
GRADUATE PROGRAM GRANT
For eligible Kaw tribal members who wish to complete a master’s degree, PhD or professional degree.
When applying for this grant, the student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and show they have an unmet financial need.
Deadlines to apply for the graduate program are JUNE 1 for the fall semester and NOVEMBER 1 for the spring semester.

- May be enrolled full-time or part-time
- Approved for admission by the university
- Must show an unmet financial need
- Maintain a 2.0 grade point each semester
- Includes summer school
ADULT VOCATION TRAINING
For Native Americans who wish to complete an associate degree or a 1-2 year certification program.
When applying for this grant, the student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and show they have an unmet financial need.
- Be an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe
- May be enrolled full-time or part-time
- Approved for enrollment by the school
- Must show an unmet financial need
- Maintain a 2.0 grade point each semester
- Includes summer school
TRIBAL EDUCATION GRANT (INCLUDES ASSOCIATE, BACHELOR’S, MASTER’S, PhD AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS)
If a student is not eligible for a program listed above, the student may be approved for a tribal education grant. The tribal education grant assists students who are not eligible for financial aid or who do not maintain a 3.0 grade point.
- Student must be a member of the Kaw Nation
- Student may be full-time or part-time
- Student must maintain a 2.0 grade point
- Student must complete the FAFSA to show they do not have a financial need
